WHAT IS DTF?
DTF Transfer or Direct to film printing is a relatively new print process whereby a specialist ink is printed in reverse onto a coated PET transfer film which is resistant to temperature. As the colour design is printed onto the transfer film, a white underbase is printed over the top at the same time so the image can be pressed onto any colour garment and won’t lose its vibrancy.
Once printed a specific type of powdered adhesive is applied to the design and then heat cured. The image is then ready to be applied to almost any garment material and has a soft and pliant hand (feel) to it. This method of garment decoration will give a long lasting, vibrant, soft look which will last as long as a screen print and will last many washes.
